Shark Performance is proud to announce the release of our 100% OBD tuning solution for the new 2.0TDI 184bhp 2.0TDI engine. This engine can be found in the new Volkswagen Golf 7 GTD, Seat Leon FR, Audi A3 and the Skoda Octavia vRS.
The development process started almost a year ago, when we acquired our Skoda Octavia vRS III for the purposes of developing new tuning software and hardware products for VW's new MQB platform.
We drove the car as standard for some time, to analyse its performance, and to find out ways to improve the driveability. As standard, the car is no slouch. In our VBOX GPS verified performance tests, the car did 0-60mph in 8.28 seconds, and on our state-of-the-art Bapro AWD rolling road, it slightly exceeded the factory numbers, at 184.0hp and 392Nm of torque. Even though the car was performing to factory specifications, we felt the car was a little flat, maybe even boring. We also thought that the throttle response could be improved and made more linear.
Since January this year, we have been developing the software for this engine. Our engineers have spent countless hours and endless miles developing, testing, and refining the software to reach perfection. The software has been tested on our in-house 4WD chassis dynamometer to ensure smooth power delivery, and we have spent time at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground to confirm real life performance and reliability. And most importantly, we have driven thousands of miles, on the road, to make sure it delivers the smooth andÂ progressive driving experience Shark Performance is known for.
Finally, it is ready.
The software we can now offer for this engine delivers in all areas. With 235hp and 500Nm on tap, the driving experience is simply sensational. With the 0-60mph time down to 7.04 seconds, it can show a clean pair of heels to many of its contemporaries. It will outrun a Golf Mk7 GTI, and still return 55MPG. It really is power without compromise!
With our advanced torque control methods, we can control the torque in lower gears, so you don't have to worry about leaving tyremarks every time you set off from the traffic lights. Our fuelling strategies ensure, that the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) life isn't affected, and that your fuel consumption will not be detrimentally affected and in most cases, will actually improve.
With our unique software delivery methods, we have the ability to write a bespoke map for your ECU, rather than uploading a basic generic flash. Our dealers do not rely upon certain software versions being available to them, and so they are able to work with your car first time, every time.
